Buying Islamic Gifts for Mothers Day
May 6th, 2010 by admin
Many Muslim scholars will argue about celebrating Mothers day as it is a non Muslim event, but a recent meeting with a local scholar left me at ease about the subject. A mother is the most special person in one’s life, and although there is no one day that can pay back for all the long and sleepless nights that a mother spends caring for her child, or the numerous sacrifices she makes on a daily basis to protect and support her child, a special day dedicated just for the moms does not in any way contradict the teachings of Islam. In fact, Islam stresses the importance of showing love and respect towards your mother at several occasions throughout the Quran.
Giving Islamic gifts to your mother for Mothers day can go a long way in showing her that she really does hold a special place in your life and heart. Children often get so entangled in their own lives that they forget to take the time out of their schedules to let their moms know that how much they are appreciated. Therefore, it will definitely make her happy, feel loved and cherished by her children and the Islamic gifts that you bring for her will certainly hold a special place in her heart.
There are numerous Islamic gifts that can be given to moms for this special day. These gifts include Prayer Mats and prayer beads, which are used by them five times a day. Every time they will use them, it will bring a smile to their faces, thinking of their child, whom they love more than anything else in the world. Even when the child is not nearby, she will be happy just thinking of the gesture that was made just for her sake by her children in the form of beautiful Islamic gifts.
Other Islamic gifts that all moms love include attars and jewellery. They are both items that all women love and when given by their child, it holds a special place in their lives. There are large selections of attars available at leading stores, so you can pick out the fragrance that your mom loves, or get something that reminds you of her. Similarly, Islamic jewellery items like pendants and bracelets with Quranic Ayat inscribed on them make great Islamic gifts for mother’s day. These jewellery items will not only look good, but the verses inscribed on them will also ward off the evil spirits.
So this Mothers day make a special effort and spend time with your moms and get them nice Islamic gifts that are not only useful but also meaningful to them. Remember, one day we all will be parents and kindness towards our parents will get us their prayers which will eventually affect us in our older age.
