Remnants of 19th-Century Village Beneath Central Park Unearthed by Archaeologist

The past is constantly being re-written. Across the country there are hundreds of excavations going on. It’s back-breaking work in often tough conditions, but the findings are essential for our understanding of our past. Yet who has the time to visit them all and put their findings into context? This is an archaeological project that is located in central park today. But they\’re looking at the time where African-American and Irish immigrants inhabit before the central park was built. Archaeologist have been working 8 weeks straight doing straight-forward archaeology; digging soil.
