The Child Benefit Office Works Hard For You And Your Children

June 15th, 2010 by admin

Social insurance programs are present in all industrialized nations and even in many developing countries.  I, myself, cannot imagine living in a country that does not offer social security.  It is, after all, a critical portion of the services that a government has to provide to its people, the very people providing revenue for the state through payment of taxes.

In the UK, the HRMC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) is at the forefront in delivering social security to its citizens.    HM Revenue and Customs merged from the agencies of Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise Departments last April 18, 2005.  It collects certain taxes, provides monetary and social entitlements, and enforces some laws related to wages and border protection.  They are well-known for providing services such as giving out child benefits.  Claiming it is not always easy, though.  This is because all of these are subject to certain requirements and procedures.  For one to smoothly proceed with the application, you need to have complete information like being prepared with your kid’s child benefit number, TIN, some forms, identification cards, etc.

Speaking of child benefits, the main agency responsible for that is the Child Benefit Office.  They are there to pay and administer the proper amount of Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance.  A friend’s experience with the office led him to conclude that the people working there genuinely aim to deliver utmost satisfaction to its customers.  Telephone calls are answered  within 20 seconds ninety percent of the time; letters are replied within fifty days as much as possible; requests for information are answered right away; and it only takes them roughly five days to decide claims related to child benefits.
