The Federation for American Immigration Reform Impact Studies

March 28th, 2010 by admin

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the current levels of illegal immigration are having a huge impact on many aspects of daily life within the country. This is the basis for the organization’s continued lobbying and other activities to change the current policies that are in place. These studies are, in fact, one of the methods that they use to educate people about their position, and they share the results they obtain with many media outlets or political organizations.

Most of the studies conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform focus on questions like how many illegal and legal immigrants come into the country each year? What laws are being enforced to penalize the employers that hire illegal immigrants? What impact does illegal immigration have on the country as a whole? What is it doing to the different facets of daily life? How is it affecting the national security?

Some of the aspects that illegal immigration can affect, according to the Federation For American Immigration Reform, include: wages and employment, taxes and social services, mortgages, crime rates, and the environment. FAIR conducts research on all these areas and shares this information with different organizations to communicate their position on the issue.

In order to mitigate some of the alleged detrimental effects of illegal immigration, FAIR is a proponent of stricter enforcement of the current laws and has even stated that they support a temporary moratorium on all immigration (except for the spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens). Further research will show how accurate these studies are.
