Weekend in Spain

A weekend in Spain can be a fun little mini vacation and if you are looking for cheap hotels in Barcelona you are in luck.  There are quite a few sites on the web that will point you to deals for as little as €22 per night.   Sites like easytobook.com advertise 887 hotels in Barcelona at up to 80% off the advertised rates.  

The really cheap hotels have never really done a lot of business with the online hotel reservation companies because they don’t have much room to make discount deals and the online reservation companies don’t profit much from them.   That has been changing recently and there are many more 2 star hotels appearing on those sites.   When you are looking for cheap hotels in Barcelona there is no rule that says you have to look for a 2 star hotel.  Many of the reservation sites will be able to get you 3 or 4 star accommodations at 2 star prices anyway, so there really isn’t much of a need to look for 2 star hotels.  

If you really feel that you need to find a 2 star hotel for the best deal on cheap hotels in Barcelona then you may be in luck with the hotel reservation sites.  There are a lot more 2 star hotels on those sites but the deals they offer are not much more than a 20% saving off their regular pricing, which is still cheaper than 60% off a 4 or 5 star hotel room rate.  

As always, its best to look up as many reviews as you can on 2 or 3 star hotels.   Even though it doesn’t hurt to look up reviews on 4 and 5 star hotels, the reason they got the 4 or 5 stars is because of great amenities and service.   Looking up reviews on cheap hotels in Barcelona may even lead to some fantastic hotels that are off the beaten path.  Finding that sort of cheap hotel can make a weekend trip to Spain a weekend adventure in Spain.  Anyone can locate a popular tourist trap, but finding a genuinely nice place to stay for a low cost is a win win.
